Healthcare Compliance Specialist
The candidate will be responsible for supporting our client in their regulatory commitments including Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA within the IT department and will work closely with business personnel involved in regulatory management. This includes working with other IT application and system owners to help coordinate, design and provide support for control testing and compliance verification to help insure IT makes its business commitments. The role will also be responsible for supporting remediation design, project management, new project design support representing policies, review of management testing, risk assessments and support for policy development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with IT application and system owners to represent our client's standards for regulatory commitments including Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA Security.
- Project Management for regulatory related projects such as remediation design, testing and management reporting. Oversee the remediation and tracking of audit exceptions.
- Design input and maintenance of compliance monitoring program
- Work with internal and external audit, legal and compliance departments supporting control framework testing, execution, implementation and verification of remediation.
- Provide support for policies and procedure within IT to insure compliance to business requirements
- Implementation and maintenance of SOX 404 testing tool.
- Update management on status of projects, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement and support miscellaneous projects such as Common Body of Knowledge for system inventories, risk assessments and remediation plans.
- Remediation design support utilizing IT experience and regulatory knowledge to make sure solutions meet commitments for HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley.
- Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis when needed
- Compliance department interface for policy implementation.
